Default THE new Barage Build

Hello form France (so sry for my pOooor english), here is a new Barage build (maybe already used but very interesting with the new update)

Skills

-Barage {E}
-Dual Shot
-Splinter Weapon
-Nightmare Weapon
-Whirling defense
-Throw dirt
-Comfort
-Charm
- Optionnal (flesh of my flesh isn't bad)

Attributes

Marksmanship: 13 (9+1+3)
Beast Mastery: 9 (8+1)
Expertise: 10 (9+1)
Channeling: 10
Restauration: 3

Before agro, cast Splinter on your pet and on yourself, this will make huge damages. When u can see clusters of ennemies, set up a spike (if u use TS) with dual shot (it deals 2*35 in area, with 5 rangers in your team: 70*5=350)
When you nead Heal Use nightmare weapon (it will steal 37*3 Hp in one shot with barage)

Flesh of my flesh is a very interesting skill, 4sec rez with full HP, if u play with a WoH or BZ monk, the life sac won't really matter.

The biggest problem with this build , (and i use it in tombs - but only when im surrounded by R/Mo's) is the lack of a multiple ressurect , like Rebirth , and having to rely on a res sig.

yeah , for ranger's spirits, you can take off Nightmare weapon to take a spirit, or whirling if you are playing in UW² (it is useless here).
And for the lack of Multiple resurect, u can use flesh of my flesh as optionnal skills, this is a hard rez and a very good one, bcse it rez in 4 seconds with full life on the target (if you were full life also). The only inconvenient when you rez in fight, is that you loose half of your life. Just tell your monk you are using this skill, then he will be ready to heal you.

If you get in very big trouble, tell your monk/order/MM to run away (they should have rebirth), and if they are all dead, just flesh them (4sec is very short).

The synergy between Barrage and Splinter Weapon, obviously a key aspect of your build, is currently under discussion in another thread,

http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10107580

which you may want to look at. I concur with the previous poster who suggests you might want to consider replacing Nightmare Weapon in certain situations.

No interupt ftl. What really makes a difference between a good bp group and a crappy group destined to whipe is the ability for the bps to interupt. Personally, I never leave home without Distracting Shot and Concussion Shot. Extra damage is nice, but it really means nothing if your group is getting pounded by every Meteor Shower or Worm Siege that is cast. If you go in Sorrow's Furnace for bp, then the difference is less gnashers/binders stealing corpses and bosses not able to heal themselves. What makes a bp group work so well in many instances isn't the sheer damage that is output by barrage, but rather the synergy between members in the group that allows them to all work together and achieve a goal as efficiently as possible. Just as it's the monk's job to prot/heal and the MM's job to raise minions, it's the bp's job to make sure they negate big obvious sources of damage when possible and to prevent corpse stealing/needless destruction of minions.

Agreed with Archon, Unfortunatly many B/P rangers these days just think all they have to do is press Barrage, I noticed this by joining a b/p group in Urgoz not long ago, in which some random ranger asked me to ping my build, He started flaming and telling me I shouldn't bring Savage Shot and Savage shot sucks and blah blah,he actually told me all a b/p ranger has to do is press barrage... well In almost every ranger bar I have I always bring Savage shot, you better off interrupting a Meteor Shower/*Insert dangerous hex/spell here* then dealing +10 dmg to a creature with other attack skill.

So for the new b/p rangers, no you don't just have to press 1 and barrage away, think about other things you can put in your build and never leave town without a interrupt because that's one of the things that makes rangers really special. I choose Savage Shot because of the fast recharge.

About your build, yeah it has been done, It's not a bad build I haven't tested it and am not 100% sure if a weapon spell works like a enchantment spell, but if it doesn't you better off bringing [skill]Forked Arrow[/skill] for Dual Shot, I would definatly switch Throw Dirt for either Savage or Distracting shot, you already have Whirling defense there anyway and most rangers bring it too to a b/p group.

Afaik, a weapon spell is not an enchantment for other evaluations, so it should not work as one for Forked Arrow.

Nightmare Weapon is quite good - although it was better last testweekend - about 120 HP life stealing for 5E is not so bad .... and with a pet you do have a second weapon

Yeah I just forgot interupts when i was setting the build. The one I posted is a general build, then it's you to adapt it where u go(ex: Whirling useless in UW² bcse fo Fingers of Chaos. I also prefer Savage for the reload and extra damage (compared with distracting shot).
Then I tried to forked for the reload but I prefered Dual shot, cause even if your monks arent using enchant, u often have hexes (I play barage everywhere I go with my ranger and heroes, not only Urgoz UW² ... really pwnz everything if you adapt your team build).
And thx for returns, that's what I was expecting from this forum (first I posted, another one in farming section )
